Ambassador of Israel Visits Families of Thai Victims in the Northeast to Convey Condolences and Support

Bangkok, February 25, 2026 - On February 23, H.E. Alona Fisher-Kamm, Ambassador of Israel to Thailand, led a delegation from the Embassy of Israel on a two-day visit to Nongkhai, Nongbualamphu and Udon Thani to meet the families of four Thai workers who were murdered in the brutal attacks carried out by Hamas terrorists in Israel on October 7, 2023.

Mrs. Nawanan Netithanakul, Deputy Secretary-General of the Senate, together with high-level officials of the Secretariat of the Senate, joined the visit. In each province the Ambassador and her delegation were warmly received and accompanied by the Governor or Deputy Governor, along with provincial labour officials.

During the trip, the Ambassador met the family of Mr. Sudthisak Rintharak in Nongkhai, who was the last hostage held in Hamas captivity; the family of Mr. Sonthaya Oakkharasri in Nongbualamphu; and, the families of Mr. Kraison Arathit and Mr. Theerapong Klangsuwan in Udon Thani.

This marked the first occasion on which Ambassador Fisher-Kamm had the opportunity to meet the bereaved families in person. She conveyed her deepest condolences and moral support to them during this time of profound grieve. The Ambassador listened attentively to the families’ reflections and memories of their loved ones, acknowledging the immense sorrow and loss they continue to endure.

In addition to offering condolences, the consular team from the Embassy conducted follow-up discussions with the families to ensure that they are regularly receiving the allowances and support provided by the Government of Israel. All rights and entitlements are fully respected in accordance with the privileges granted to Israeli victims of the attacks.

During the visit the Ambassador said, “The Thai workers play a major role in the growth of Israeli agriculture and we highly appreciate their dedication. The people of Israel regard them and their families as part of our extended family. Israel stands with them, sharing in their pain and honoring their loss. Their untimely death during the horrific events of October 7 and its aftermath is mourned by the people of Israel; and, their memory will remain with us always.”
