14 February 2026 - Bangkok launched the “Rak (Love) @ Bangrak” Valentine’s Day marriage registration event to support love in all its forms and promote an inclusive society.
The off-site marriage registration service opened at the Jewelry Trade Center in Bang Rak District, Bangkok, as part of the 2026 Valentine’s Day activities.
Deputy Permanent Secretary Lertlak Leelaruengsang stated that Valentine’s Day is a universal symbol of love and marks an important beginning for family life. She noted that marriage registration expresses commitment and establishes legal rights and responsibilities.
She emphasized Bangkok’s pride in its diversity and the implementation of marriage equality legislation, ensuring that all couples receive equal legal protection grounded in equality and human dignity. She added that Bang Rak District, known for its association with love and cultural significance, is a meaningful venue for celebrating all forms of love that contribute to a more livable and sustainable Bangkok.
Bang Rak District Director Pornpan Wattanasin said the event was organized in partnership with networks to encourage expressions of love in all forms. She noted that Bang Rak remains a popular destination for marriage registration, especially on Valentine’s Day, due to its auspicious name.
This year, 1,259 couples registered to marry on Valentine’s Day. A highlight of the event is a lottery for 12 gold marriage certificates for participating couples.
