Thai Parliament Receives Formal Complaint Over COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects

Representatives of individuals affected by COVID-19 vaccinations have formally petitioned Thailand's House of Representatives, demanding justice for alleged vaccine victims and calling for transparent investigations into vaccination contracts and safety protocols.

BANGKOK, May 22 2025 - The Thai House of Representatives has received a formal complaint from medical professionals and advocacy groups seeking justice for individuals who allegedly suffered adverse effects from COVID-19 vaccines.

Mr. Jate Anukunphokharat, Commander of the Political Coordination and Complaint Reception Unit at the House of Representatives Office, accepted the petition on behalf of House Speaker Wan Muhammad Nor Matha. The complaint was submitted by representatives of those affected by COVID-19 vaccinations, accompanied by a group of doctors and advocates.

The petitioners argue that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the urgent authorization of vaccines bypassed standard safety verification procedures, potentially leading to health complications among recipients. They cite cases of physical abnormalities and fatalities following vaccination, claiming that despite repeated appeals to relevant authorities, no meaningful progress has been made in addressing victims' concerns.

The group referenced statements from the U.S. Presidential website acknowledging problems with pandemic response measures lacking scientific foundation, which caused significant economic and social damage. They argue that Thai citizens have experienced similar impacts.

The complaint requests the House of Representatives to establish a public forum and create a working committee to study vaccine-related issues, including victim representatives. They also demand that the government, Food and Drug Administration, and National Health Security Office review vaccine authorizations, allow victim registration, and disclose all government contracts with private entities for vaccine procurement.

Following the submission, Mr. Jate confirmed that House Speaker Wan Muhammad Nor Matha expressed concern for affected individuals and the current COVID-19 situation. The matter will be forwarded to the House Speaker for review through legislative procedures.
